She began her career performing in musicals and stage plays at the early age of nine. Frequently traveling to New York City, SydneyLynn was raised a little bit city and a little bit country. As such, her music spans genres from pop country to rock and roll. In a recent interview with WBDY, SydneyLynn shared more about her background in music. From birth she was surrounded by musicians and learned various music stylings by watching her father work as a
recording engineer, producer, and musician. Most of all, she loved watching her dad and his band, Dirt Farm, perform throughout various venues in the Southern Tier of New York. She loved going into the studio to experiment with various instruments and recording devices. Performing in musicals regionally and off-broadway throughout her teen and young adult years, she expanded her musical repertoire. Further crafting her storytelling by studying Acting at Emerson College and receiving a BFA. Her musical idols growing up were Neil Young, John Prine, Aretha Franklin, Bonnie Raitt, Frank Sinatra, and Kasey Chambers, to name a few. More recently, SydneyLynn was inspired to write her own music. She released her first single on streaming platforms in November of 2020 and her first music video,
